The Toxic Exotic Disappearance Act

Yasmeen Godder, invited by Ohad Naharin to create for Batsheva, takes inspiration for this work from Flamboya – a book by photographer and designer Viviane Sassen. Godder created a piece in which screening, hiding, shadowing and disappearance allow the identity to expose, present and stay loyal to itself while creating a world which plays between limitation and fantasy.

Premiere: December 30 at The Suzanne Dellal Center, Tel-Aviv.

A special thanks to Yasmeen Godder’s dancers for their assistance with research and development of materials: Shuli Enosh, Dalia Chaimsky, Danny Nueman, Shir Madotzki and Eran Shani
